The Michael Hourigan trained, J.P. McManus owned Hash Brown was the well backed 5/2 winning favourite of the Ennis Lifts Handicap Chase at Galway today, scoring under Barry Geraghty.
The son of Vinnie Roe had been backed from 4/1 this morning and in the end needed to work hard to eventually catch front-running Ravished in the closing stages, for a head win.
Afterwards Hourigan stated "his jumping is not much still and he spends too much time in the air. It is a long way from the bottom of the hill (to the line) and his class came out in the end but he had to be hard on him to win.
"He has never jumped fences with the same fluency as over hurdles and he still doesn't jump fences properly. I think he'll be a bit better on the spring ground."
