Irish sextet in Ayr raid

Six Irish trained horses will do battle at Ayr this afternoon with Stuart Crawford, Roy Wilson and Jim Dreaper all sending charges over to the Scottish venue.

The Roy Wilson trained Qirie D'aron gets the ball rolling for the Irish in the second race on the card at 1:20, a Novice Hurdle over 2m 4f.

This fellow has just one point-to-point run to his name and hasn't run since April of 2010. Chris Cully takes the ride on the 8yo.

Thirty minutes later Roy Wilson's second runner of the day Yes Tom lines up in the Novice Chase over 2m 4f.

The consistent son of Tikkanen faces just one rival in the shape of the Donald McCain trained Railway Dillon.

Yes Tom won over the course and distance last time out and will be expected to repeat that feat today under Paddy Brennan.

Jim Dreaper's sole representative on the card Radharc Na Mara runs in the 2:20 which is a Handicap Chase over 3m 1f as do the Stuart Crawford trained duo of Inverglen and Chateau D’eu.

Dougie Costello is aboard Chateau D’eu, Peter Buchanan will get the leg up on Inverglen while Andrew Lynch is due to ride top weight Radharc Na Mara.

All three have their chance in what is a tricky contest.

Filbert Fox trained by Stuart Crawford is the last Irish raider of the day in the 2m 5f Handicap Chase at 2:55.

This 6yo son of Snurge failed to score on his six starts in point-to-point's and having run in three maiden hurdles since he makes his handicap chase debut here.

Andrew Lynch takes the ride on this fellow and in what looks a fairly weak contest anything could happen.
