There’s just one Irish raider heading to Britain on Tuesday afternoon and he’s trained by Katy Brown from County Kildare.

We assess her gelding’s chance in a competitive looking sprint handicap in the North East for Tuesday evening’s Newcastle card.

Reinforce - Newcastle 7.00 @ SP

Hollie Doyle has been amongst the winners since she’s been back in Britain in recent weeks after a spell overseas and she has a cracking book of rides at Newcastle on Tuesday evening, including Reinforce for Katy Brown who is the only Irish raider on the card.

The race is the feature contest at Newcastle on Tuesday night and Reinforce faces eight rivals in what looks a competitive looking contest with three last-time-out winners going to post, including William Dewhirst who bids for a sixth course win in his last seven starts.

Ben Haslam’s representative beat an in-form rival who was well-in at the weights over six furlongs last time out but it’s not certain that this drop back to the minimum trip is going to suit.

That can’t be said for Brown’s runner, whose wins both came at five furlongs. This son of Tasleet wasn’t at his best at Dundalk last time over 6f but that was his first run after a short break and he may find this test more to his liking back down at his preferred distance.

He’s now 3lb lower than when narrowly denied at Newbury towards the end of the summer and he’s got some reasonable all-weather form to his name, despite not managing to gain a win on an artificial surface yet.

This five-year-old looks like an each-way player at double figure odds, particularly given that there looks to be plenty of pace on paper. That should give him a decent gallop to aim at.
