Intransive sees it out well Pat Smullen and Intransive made all to take the spoils in Gowran Park’s mile maiden for juvenile colts and geldings. The Khalid Abdullah-owned colt had garnered experience in the Curragh when ninth on debut and then improved on that to be second at Roscommon to Vocaliser. This was Smullen’s 99th winner of the season. He was busy on board Intransive in the final furlong as the pair hugged the far rail and maintained the gallop to win at 9/2 (from 6/1 on opening show). A pair of 12/1 shots, Aloft and Morning Mix, closed into second and third while Hans Holbein was noted finishing nicely on the outside for fourth. Trainer Dermot Weld, saddling his 86th winner this season said: “He's a nice colt and progressed from Roscommon where he ran a good second. Experience was a big help, he had a good draw and got a good ride. He's a nice progressive two-year-old. “He's had three runs so I'll speak to Lord Grimthorpe and see whether he will run again. He's from a very good Juddmonte family and it was important to win as a two-year-old.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
