Inspection planned for Gowran this afternoon

Tomorrow’s meeting at Gowran Park which features the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes, is in some doubt due to significant rainfall with an inspection planned for 4pm this afternoon.

The going is currently described as soft to heavy, heavy in places, at the County Kilkenny track following 32mm of rain and a status yellow weather warning is in place at present.

The forecast is for a further 16mm of rain prior to racing.

Meanwhile the going at Downpatrick is now yielding to soft, soft in places, ahead of this afternoon’s meeting.

It is currently raining at the northern venue with further persistent rain forecast.

The first on a seven-race card begins at 2.15pm.

Racing also takes place at Ballinrobe today where the outlook is brighter. The going is currently yielding and a mainly dry forecast with the chance of isolated showers.

The action gets underway on an eight-race jumps card at 3.05pm.
