Innamorare back in good form to win Dundalk feature Innamorare sprung a 14/1 surprise in the feature at Dundalk, the Floodlit Friday Nights Handicap. On the polytrack for the first time since July 2018, Innamorare came here with three ‘duck eggs’ to her name. She came back to her best though, to make it six career wins, triumphing on this occasion in the hands of Chris Hayes. Katiymann was a bit unfortunate in second, coming home well once in the clear, going under by three parts of a length. There was a neck to Sirjack Thomas in third. “We tried a few different things with her since Galway, it didn't work out and we probably ran her back a bit too soon a couple of times,” said winning trainer Gavin Cromwell. “We freshened her up and aimed her at this. I was a little bit unsure about the surface, I've never ran her here and before we got her her form wasn't brilliant on the surface. “She was good on it tonight, so it's great. I don't know what we'll do now. “We were aiming her at this and if it didn't work she was going home so I'll have a chat with the owner.” The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Innamorare, placed fist, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that the ground at Navan last time was too soft for his charge, prior to that the filly got no run at Leopardstown and was forced to check at the Curragh. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered. (GC & EM)
