The Paul Holden horses are now trained by his daughter Ellmarie but Eoin Doyle is keeping his own show on the road and doing so in some style. The last three races in which the Mooncoin handler has had a runner he's hit the target; the latest being with St Lawrence Gap in the concluding Limerick Racecourse Family Fun Day 9th July Handicap.
Doyle had two in this two mile one furlong heat; Alamgiyr (33/1) and 3/1 favourite St Lawrence Gap.
Once given the office inside the two by Ross Coakley, St Lawrence Gap quickened up well to beat Magna Cartor by four and three parts of a length.
"It was very plain sailing and Eoin (Doyle) said to take a lead and ride him with a bit of confidence," explained Coakley.
"The extra trip suited him better than when he won the last day, when he just about got away with it. He bounces off the ground and could be the type of horse who would love the hustle and bustle of Galway."
C.D. Hayes, rider of He's Our Man trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very free.
