In-foal Lyric flies home to land the spoils Legal Lyric caught the eye when flashing home to finish third at Fairyhouse and she followed up on that run by scoring in division two of the Library Live Music Bar Handicap under Seamie Heffernan. The Willie Mullins trained daughter of Lawman (quick double for the Ballylinch Stud based sire, after Penny Serenade won the previous contest) was sent off the 7/4 favourite (from 5/2 on-course) and she was settled towards the rear. Turning into the straight she still had a lot of work to do, however she flew home on the wide outside, just like she did at Fairyhouse, hitting the front inside the final furlong and going on to score by a length and a half. The Tim Doyle trained Vasoni finished back in second at 2/1 (5/1 this morning with Paddy Power and backed from 11/4 on-course) under Billy Lee, while reserve Enter The Red was two and a half lengths back in third under Ian Brennan for Aidan Howard at 28/1. Winning owner and breeder John O’Connor, who is the managing director of Ballylinch Stud, said afterwards: "She was entitled to win on her last run at Fairyhouse. "She is in-foal to a French Derby winner, Lope De Vega (stands at Ballylinch) and she seems to be improving which could be due to her being in-foal. "She has a nice turn of foot and Seamie gets on well with her. She is better when she gets a chance to settle." Additional reporting by Alan Magee
