Outsiders filled the first two positions as St Brelades Bay (25/1) touched off Confrontational (22/1) in the Dundalk Stadium — Light Up Your Night Handicap.
In-form Tom Madden was on St Brelades Bay for Jessica Harrington, and a neck and the same separated him from Confrontational and Togoville at the finish.
Joint favourite Have A Nice Day (6s into 4s) came in for plenty of support and he ended up a close fourth.
"I thought when he got squeezed out of it he was gone but when I got the bit back up in his mouth he launched forward and took me into the race. He came home really well," reported Madden.
"He stays six really well and would get an easy seven somewhere. Six is ideal for him and he loved the surface there today."
His brother Niall rode a winner at Uttoxeter today, Yasir, his first since returning from a broken arm.
