Four 'ground' withdrawals robbed the Tuskar Rock Beginners Chase of some of its gloss but that mattered little to connections of in-foal Carutomark which proved the narrow winner under Philip Enright.
Carutomark, carrying cheek-pieces, got the better of a three-way tussle on the run-in, eventually recording a length and a quarter win over Forjoetheplumber
Winning trainer Paul Magnier later reported "Carutomark was never the most honest mare until she went in-foal. She is in-foal to Mr Dinos and can race for one more month - she is in at Bellewstown on Sunday and we'll see how she is before rdeciding whether to run her."
