In Salutem gained an overdue second career win in the limerickraces.ie Handicap at Limerick today, leaving his trainer Ken Condon to credit the win to his jockey Shane Foley.
The winner made virtually all the running and while some of his rivals encountered some trouble in-running in the closing stages, Foley kept his mount going for a head win over Knights Templar
Afterwards Condon said “I'd describe that as 80% jockey and 20% from the horse! Usually it's 99% horse and 1% from the jockey but he (In Salutem) tried to hand it away and it's been a long time coming.
“He's been frustrating but works like a nice horse and should possibly have won three times last year but instead won just one.”
Regarding his Queen Mary Stakes third and stable star Newsletter, Condon added “she came home yesterday morning and is very well. We were very pleased with her and I think she was beaten by two very good fillies. There's a good distance break to the Cherry Hinton on July 11 and I think she'll keep improving.”
In Salutem is the motto of the Northern Lighthouse Board of Scotland, meaning 'For the Safety of All'.
