I'm Spartacus leads home 1-2 for McGuinness Trainer Ado McGuinness registered a 1-2 with a pair of four-year-olds in Dundalk’s Put The Fun In Fundraising At Dundalk Handicap today, as winner I’m Spartacus lead home stablemate Clonmacash. Held up in mid-field by jockey Adam Caffrey, I’m Spartacus eventually improved to lead inside the final furlong, to beat his near-neighbour by a half-length. Afterwards McGuinness said "I’m Spartacus is a horse that has been unlucky with draws up here: he has been drawn wide a good bit and things just haven't fallen right for him. Both times he has been drawn well, he has won and he had a good draw today. “Adam was very good on him - he knows the horse very well because he has ridden him plenty of times and rides this place well. "I’m Spartacus belongs to Paddy McKeever - a former Armagh footballer, and his cousin Conor who is American based." Regarding his runner-up Clonmacash, he added "he has run great. I half fancied him more but he got caught wide and the quickest way around here is the shortest way. He gave away a little bit more ground but has run well. "If the handicapper leaves him alone, we might wait and leave him here until the finals (day), if he stays in this bracket because he will be guaranteed a run then." Quotes from Michael Graham
