Iberique Du Seuil continued Gordon Elliott's golden weekend when taking the opening 3yo maiden hurdle in Cork.
The Spanish Moon gelding was a warm order at 8/11 to account for his 17 rivals after a couple of runner-up berths in Galway and Punchestown.
He was asked to improve by Denis O'Regan at the third last and touched down into a narrow lead. The favourite travelled well as he increased his advantage racing to the second last. He jumped it well but was less than fluent at the final flight as he opened the door to the pursuers. Vera Verto stayed on well to challenge in the closing stages but Iberique Du Seuil held on by a head from the 9/1 runner-up. Swinging London also kept on nicely on the outer for third, a further neck away, at 4/1.
O'Regan said: "I tried to use his experience and was probably in front a bit early. He had a sloppy jump at the last but he battled back well. I was in front a bit soon but he got the job done and stays at it well.
"The yard is on fire."
Elliott won seven of the eight races in Navan yesterday.
