Ireland have won the 25th annual jump jockeys series against their Australian counterparts. The Irish team of Mark Grant, Keith Hadnett, Gary Hutchinson and Martin Mooney came out on top by 72 points to 55.
The final leg of the series was held at Moonee Valley earlier this morning, with victory going to Aussie rider Brian Constable aboard Kaisersosa. However Hutchinson and Hadnett filled second and third placings respectively to ensure an Irish series win.
The Australian team will be looking for quick revenge when they come over here in October, with Thurles, Punchestown, Roscommon and Downpatrick among the tracks holding races.
