Both successful in their own right earlier on the card, Chris Timmons and Robert Whearty brought up doubles as Hurricane Helen landed the Book Your Navan Summer BBQ Packages Apprentice Handicap.

A seven-time previous winner, the grey has often been unlucky in running given her hold up style. However, on this occasion she enjoyed a clearer passage which enabled her land the spoils. Rain and Out On Friday cut out the early running but both had cried enough over 2f out as Yes Oui Si swept to the front.

However, the latter's effort was short lived as both Hurricane Helen and Secret World went on. The seven-year-old mare proved the stronger on the run-in, going clear to win by one-and-three-quarters lengths.

Chris Timmons said: "I was a little bit worried that a mile and two here might just stretch her. She stuck at it well.

"She's a strong-travelling mare and Rob was comfortable most of the way he said. He was just trying to hang on to her just to see if she could last out the last half a furlong. He said she got a bit lonely.

"We kind of felt that she was kind of coming to herself. Her coat is only actually coming as well, the hair is flying off her at the moment. I'd say in another two or three days she will have a great coat, greys take a bit longer to come.

"She's a good servant, I think that is her fourth win for us. I think she won four before she came to us. There's more in her and I'd love to see her around Leopardstown on fast ground.

"She skips off that ground, she's a very good-actioned filly and she enjoyed it. It was a bit of a change from Dundalk and she appreciated a return to grass.

"It is indeed (first double) and it is fantastic. I thought after winning the first we might have used up all our luck! Inchiquin Maid ran well too, she was third (in R4). When they are running well, that is all you can ask for.

"I'm happy with the bunch of horses we have, we are a little bit behind with a frozen gallop for a week here and there. They are all coming along in their own time."
