Hunting Horn collared Latrobe in the closing stages of the mile and a quarter maiden at Naas for a snug victory.
He gave Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore a brace as the pair also teamed up with Capri in the Group Three Gladness Stakes.
The well-backed-favourite Latrobe went for home approaching the final furlong but Hunting Horn (7/4) moved ominously into contention behind him.
He always looked likely to get up and indeed he was pushed out to collar Latrobe (9/10) inside the final 100 yards and win by a neck.
Aidan O'Brien said: "We liked him last year and he got beat twice.
“The Camelots seem to step up from two to three and when when they go beyond a mile to a mile-and-a-quarter and they probably will again when they go to a mile-and-a-half.
“He had a couple of decent runs last year and Joseph's horse (Latrobe for Joseph O'Brien) had a very good run. I'd say it was a decent maiden.
“He can go to some of the Derby trials now. We'll play our way gentle and see what happens.”
