Hughies Grey produced a fine front-running performance to claim the Bet With The Tote Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal.
Conor Maxwell was always to the fore on his mount and he found plenty in the closing stages to prove three-length too strong for Rossbeigh
"He loves the ground. He'll stay hurdling this year and next year we'll go chasing with him," said trainer Mervyn Torrens.
"He jumps very well. He's tough and genuine and is a lovely horse."
