Hourigan reveals Beef Or Salmon´s setback

Trainer Michael Hourigan has revealed that Beef Or Salmon´s withdrawl from the November Handicap at Leopardstown on Sunday was due to a knock to his head which resulted in blood appearing in his nostrils.

Speaking following Kerryhead Sunshine´s win in the Christmas Hospitality Maiden Hurdle (division 3), Hourigan reported 'Beef Or Salmon hit his head either on the lorry, in the stable, or in the saddling enclosure, which resulted in blood appearing in his nostil.'

He added 'the injury is something similar to what happened to Istabraq before winning his third Champion Hurdle and Beef Or Salmon has scoped clean and has been given a clean bill of health; there is nothing wrong with him.'

'The Betfair Cup (Saturday week) is the only real option and he runs there.'

Hourigan added that his Hi Cloy runs against Moscow Flyer in the Fortria Chase at Navan on Sunday.
