Hogan doubles up with impressive Moskovite Moskovite made a winning 'track' debut at Thurles today when running out a cosy winner of the concluding bumper on the card. Denis Hogan's charge had landed her sole outing 'between the flags' at Killeagh last month and made it two from two on her first racecourse appearance. Patrick Mullins tracked the leaders on the 2/1 favourite before letting her stride on into the lead before the straight. The Flemensfirth mare was asked to quicken over a furlong-and-a-half from home and galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a two-and-three-quarter length victory over market rival Western Victory (9/4). The winner had been as short as 10/11 this morning and after trading as big as 5/2 on course she was supported again close to the off. Hogan was completing a double on the day having rode Youcantcallherthat to victory earlier in the mares novice chase and he said:- "I was feeling a bit of pressure all day as there was a bit of word for Colin's (Bowe) mare (runner-up Western Victory) and I'd say she is a good mare too. “This is a very good mare, Moyhenna (her half-sister) is good, but this one has more gears and has a bit of pace. "There's a chance she will go to Cheltenham Sales so I'll have to speak with the lads later and see. She is good and Patrick left her roll on as he didn't want to disappoint her. "She is going to be good and there's a chance she could be sold. "Moyhenna wasn't sold the other day as she wasn't making quite enough and will now run in the Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle at Limerick next month." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
