Headford Flyer survived a stewards enquiry to claim the concluding bumper at Clonmel after a hard earned victory.
The Eoghan O'Grady-trained gelding fought it out with Bruach Na Mara from the two furlong pole and despite drifting left under pressure proved strongest in the closing stages to score by half a length under Mikey Fogarty.
"That's a relief as it's his last go at a bumper as he's had five runs now," said O'Grady.
"He'll probably go for a winners' bumper at Punchestown and then go over hurdles after May 1st.
"He likes better ground and we'll keep him going as long as there is a bit of juice in it."
