Hasiyna appreciated the drop back in trip when getting off the mark at the 14th attempt in the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap over six furlongs.

Owned and trainer by John McConnell, the 14/1 shot travelled well early in the straight and kept on well under pressure inside the final furlong under Jamie Powell to beat Wild Mountain by a neck. The Cola Brasil didn’t enjoy the clearest of passages but came home to finish just half a length further back in third.

McConnell said: "It has taken me about a year to get her trip right, but we got there in the end!

"She looks like a sprinter there, you see how muscly she is. That has come in the last six months, she has just started to fill out.

"That's her trip and she travelled well and kept at it well. Delighted to get her head across the line.

"Jamie gave her a nice ride and everything went smoothly.

"We'll give her another couple of goes I'd say and see if we can get another one."
