Trainer Jessica Harringon will send her Group 3-placed Pivotal Trigger to contest Sunday's Group 1 German Derby, with Zhang Yuesheng's colt fresh from making a winning seasonal reappearance this month.
Pivotal Trigger finished third in the Group 3 Prix des Chenes at Longchamp last September and having won on reappearance at Roscommon, is now set for a second attempt in a top-level race.
Harrington reports “it looks like he'll go out there (German Derby). He's a lovely horse, a real genuine tough horse. He's a Pivotal and they do like a bit of cut in the ground.”
Harrington's Givemethebeatboys was a high-profile runner in last Tuesday's Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, having sold the previous evening for £1,100,000 to new owners Bronsan Racing and she said “I don't know where he goes but we potentially have the Railway Stakes and the Phoenix Stakes, we have to make a decision.
“He looked really good this morning. He's a tough horse, those Bungleinthejungles are very tough. It looked a good Coventry and I was delighted with his run (finishing fourth) there.”
Regarding this evenng's Naas Oaks Trial runners Snowcapped and Small Oasis the Classic-winning trainer added “Snowcapped is an improving filly. On ratings she's probably just a handicapper but she is a big improver.
“I think stepping up in trip will suit Small Oasis as she was outpaced when she ran in France the last day. She ran well there and I've got a pair of blinkers on her now to try and keep her concentrating.
“Hopefully they'll both run well and get a bit of black-type.”
