Martin Harley gave Spelterini a well judged hold up ride to take the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Derby at the Curragh.
Jim Bolger 's charge worked his way into contention inside the final furlong and hit the front in the closing stages.
He went on for a two-length victory over Lancetto with Sailors Warn winning a bunch finish for third.
"He's going to the July Sales and will make a nice jumper. He's a very good looking horse," said Bolger afterwards.
