Harley motoring at Sligo

The ex-Barney Curley trained Muskatsturm was the 16/1 winner of the Sligo Claiming Race at Sligo this evening, providing his rookie trainer Shaun Harley with his first winner.

Muskatsturm, without a win since 2002 in Germany, had been absent from racing for almost four years before 2008 and was ridden today by Harley?s brother Martin who brought the gelding through to lead close home to deny Art Modern by a neck.

Afterwards the winning trainer reported "I have a restricted trainers? license for the last six months and am based in Letterkenny, Co Donegal. I have two horses in training and have had three runners in England but that was my first runner in Ireland!"
