Not Available was all the rage for the Camida Beginners Chase in Clonmel but the money went astray as he could finish only third behind Hewick
The distress signals began on the 8/15 favourite (from even money) as he was scrubbed along in the lead turning into the home straight.
Hewick (11/2 from 15/2) came to claim him before two out where the favourite was less than fluent enabling Hewick to assert.
He absolutely sailed over the last and stormed in by six lengths from a staying-on Fred The Foot (8/1). Not Available dropped three and three quarter lengths further back to third.
Shark Hanlon said: "He needs that fast ground. There are tracks over-watering but we are in the summer and when you're in the summer, you want fast ground. I think over-watering is very wrong and they should bring it back to 'safe', that's all they should do."
He added: "He is one of my expensive horses (€850)! We'll see what mark he gets and maybe go for a winners' race but that is his trip and ground.
"I must give full credit to Shane Fenelon - he turned professional no length ago, rode a winner for me during the week and I think he was very good on both horses. He is very good to get horses to jump and I think he has a bright future."
