Halsafari stayed on best to land the spoils for the Bowe family in the opening rated novice hurdle at Limerick this afternoon.
The son of Solerina was sent to post a 3/1 shot in the two-mile-three contest and travelled sweetly into the straight under Brian Hayes.
He asked the Doyen gelding to hit the front going to the second last. A good jump at the final flight gave him the advantage as Lucky Icon blundered and he ran on well to secure a a length-and-a-quarter win over Getaday
The winning rider said:- "He is progressing and keeps winning. I was delighted with him and he seemed to handle the ground which we didn't know beforehand whether he would or not.
"He is very clean in his wind and he handled the ground well. Michael just brings them along slowly and is brilliant at what he does."
