Despite having form figures that suggests she has plenty to find in order to trouble the principals, Michael Halford is hoping for a big run from thrice raced filly Lashes in this afternoons Goffs Million at the Curragh.
The daughter of Acclamation, who has yet to reach the frame in three runs, was well held when down the field in a maiden at Punchestown earlier this month. However, Halford, fresh from a double at Dundalk on Friday evening, feels that she has more to offer.
"She's been disappointing. We loved her back in the early part of the year, but she has never really put it together"; he said.
"The owner had paid his way all along with her and he said 'you don't often get a chance to run for a million!'
"It is beside us there on the Curragh and we are putting a pair of blinkers on her just to sharpen her up.
"We definitely haven't seen her ability, her homework early in the year was very good. She just hasn't brought it to the track yet. It would be a great day if she did bring her A game!"
