Jennys Grey got up close home to land the bumper at Wexford, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Flat Race.
The James Dullea trained daughter of Daylami was fourth on her debut at Thurles in February, finishing sixth on her most recent effort at Tramore last month.
Sent off at 14/1 today she was settled behind the leaders. The John Druddy owned victor was then ridden in fourth entering the straight for the final time.
She went second on the inner with a furlong left to race, and battled gamely from there, getting up close home to score by half a length. Iamastartoo who hit the front over a furlong out, had to settle for second under Danny Benson for Noel Meade at 5/1, while Decision Time (8's this morning, and 11/2 to 9/2 on-course) was a fast finishing third, another neck back under Katie Walsh for John Kiely.
The winning trainer wasn't present, but Declan Queally said afterwards: "She settled better with the earplugs and she is a nice filly going forward. She has just grown up a little bit and she is improving away"
