Philip Dempsey has confirmed that Sansrisk has been retired from racing and is off to the breeding sheds.

The No Risk At All mare won three of her 12 races including the Grade 3 mares' novices' hurdle at Down Royal in November. She was also placed on another three occasions.

The trainer said: "She’s been retired. She got her black-type and she’s well-bred, so the owner wanted to cover her.

“Looking back, probably going to England was a mistake with her. When she won her Grade 3, we went to Newbury (in November) and she ran flat there and she just didn’t come back again.

“She has a lovely pedigree - she’s out of a half-sister to Chacun Pour Soi, so you can’t blame him for retiring her in case something happened.

“He has plenty more and, hopefully, we can get another nice one for him.”
