The meeting scheduled tomorrow at Gowran Park has been cancelled after the track was found to be unfit for racing following an inspection this afternoon.

Clerk of the Course Paddy Graffin said, “We had 32mm of rain up to 9am this morning and since then there has been a further 17mm.

“As soon as I got out onto the track it was clear we were going to be in trouble. Having walked the track many parts of it are waterlogged and not fit for racing.

“It is still raining steadily and with the possibility of a further 10mm of rain before racing there is no chance of the track becoming raceable.”

The Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes will be transferred to the Fairyhouse meeting on Monday to form an eight-race card. The distance of this race will now be slightly shorter at one mile, one furlong & 20 yards (formerly one mile, one furlong and 100 yards).

This race reverts back to entries after final forfeits stage with FRESH declarations to run to be made by 10am tomorrow morning.
