Goldmoyne had 22 rivals behind him when landing a seven-furlong handicap at the Curragh last August and recorded his first success since then when making virtually all in the Tote.ie Handicap.
Wayne Hassett's mount, available at 16/1 in morning wagering before being sent off a 7/1 chance, was soon at the head of affairs and it was clear at the furlong pole that he was not for catching.
In a race where few of the 28 runners got involved, I Bid You Ajou who gave chase to the winner from an early stage, kept on willingly but was two-and-three-quarter lengths adrift at the line.
“This time last year he did a similar thing. He loves this place but getting him to the start is the problem as he gets very wound up,” said trainer Tim Doyle.
“If you can get him to the start in the right frame of mind he has ability.
“It's great to get a race like that here, worth a few quid for that grade of horse. I was delighted with it.
“Funny this time last year he came to form as well and he's just after sparking in the last week or two.
“He'll go with a bit of ease in the ground so hopefully he'll be back here a couple more times before the year is out.”
