Golden Valour (11/4 favourite) triumphed in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk for Richard O’Brien and Donagh O’Connor.

The Godolphin-bred Kingman four-year-old gained his second success, coming through for the win after being held up in mid-division.

Golden Valour was ridden to close on the outer two furlongs out and he challenged a furlong out.

Disputing inside the final furlong, the successful gelding led in the last fifty yards, keeping on well close home to beat Sheberghan by two and quarter lengths.

“I’m delighted with that lad. I’ve been saying all along that his work is much better than his mark but he’s showed it a little bit there,” said O’Brien.

“I thought he wasn’t helping Donagh at any stage but it’s hard work out there with the wind.

“There is a 25 grand race here at the start of April and as long as he stays under the 85 bracket, which he should, then he’ll be targeted at that.”

G.P. Brouder, rider of Moving Forward trained by Madeleine Tylicki, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got hampered on the top bend.
