The rescheduled Thurles fixture, called off due to fog before Christmas, gets under way at 12.40 pm today and the ground is yielding.

The weather forecast is for it to be mainly dry, with a risk of light rain or drizzle later in the day.

Dundalk, where Donnacha O’Brien has his first two runners as a trainer, race from 5.00 pm with an eight-race programme.

Fairyhouse race on Saturday on the main track, where it’s yielding to soft, and also next Tuesday on the inner track, which is soft to heavy.

Rain is on the way overnight and on Saturday, with an unsettled outlook in the following days.

Punchestown race on Sunday and Monday, and it’s yielding to soft with rain forecast over the weekend.

There is fresh ground available on both tracks, and the inside straight on the hurdle course will be used on the first circuit only, with races finishing on the main straight.
