The €250,000 Ladbrokes Irish Grand National is the highlight of Fairyhouse’s three-day Easter Festival meeting which gets underway on Sunday, and the going is currently described as good.

A further 8mm of watering took place at the Co. Meath venue yesterday, and officials will continue to monitor the situation.

Cork Racecourse in Mallow also holds a three-day Easter Bank Holiday weekend meeting with the action at the southern track commencing tomorrow.

The going is currently good to firm (good in places) on the Flat course which has been aerated, and good on the watered National Hunt courses.

The weather forecast is overcast but generally dry both for today and tomorrow, while there is the possibility of significant rain later on Sunday.
