Once the hosepipe ban was introduced the rain has started to roll in across the country with greater regularity. Gowran Park have had an inch of rain overnight and it’s still coming down there currently ahead of today’s eight race card beginning at 4.15. It’s yielding, soft in places with the forecast being for a mild evening with passing showers.

The RTE cameras are present there for a one hour show (7pm-8pm RTE 2 and the RTE Player) featuring the Listed Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes.

Tipperary avoided the rain overnight but they had a fair amount earlier in the week.

It’s yielding, good to yielding in place at ‘the Junction’ ahead of an eight race Flat card starting at 1pm with a mainly dry day forecast.

Naas is another track to welcome RTE coverage (5pm-6pm RTE 2 and the Player) as they host an eight race card featuring two Listed sprints on Saturday.

The ground is now yielding, good to yielding in places after 13mm of rain since yesterday and the forecast is for unsettled weather.

Leopardstown race on Sunday and they’ve had 9mm of rain overnight. The ground is currently good with another 5-10mm of rain forecast in advance of racing.
