Goddess claims Group 3 success in Snow Fairy Goddess took another step up the ladder when claiming the Snow Fairy Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon with a battling success. The Camelot filly had looked a real star at Leopardstown last year when winning her maiden by 10 lengths but had disappointed in her only subsequent outing as a juvenile. Aidan O'Brien's charge has improved from run to run this year and was successful in Listed company on her most recent outing at Gowran in the Hurry Harriet Stakes. Sent off one of four 4/1 co-favourites Goddess settled behind the leaders in the nine-furlong contest and had to wait for a gap after finding herself in a pocket at the two furlong pole. Once clear she got to the lead inside the final furlong and the half-sister to Irish Oaks winner Bracelet always looked like holding stable-mate Credenza as she went on to record a half length win. Winning rider Ryan Moore, recording a treble on the night, said afterwards:- “She's definitely come forward every run this year. She won nicely in Gowran and from the filly I rode here last month she's improved again. I'd be very happy with her. “She has a lovely pedigree and hopefully she can make her mark in a higher grade again. “You're never confident but she quickened up well to the lead, the second filly kept fighting and she's probably not a bad filly either.”
