Glan belies inexperience to win Glan belied her relative inexperience to run out a gallant winner of the RYBO Handicap Hurdle at Cork. The Gordon Elliott trained seven-year-old was making just her third start in handicap company but it certainly didn't show as she quickened up in style to claim a nice pot. Second over course and distance on her handicap debut in November, she clearly had an off day when disappointing at Leopardstown last time. Running against stronger opposition here, she arrived with a telling challenge and pinged the last hurdle to go away and win. La Prima Donna and Heia stayed on strongly from out of the pack but there was to be no catching the winner. Seemingly at her best on better ground, Glan could be one for the Galway Hurdle later in the year should connections point her in that direction. "Mark gave her a lovely ride, it was great. That was probably her day so we'll enjoy today; said Elliott. "We've gotten beat in that race a couple of times over the years and we've been placed in it a good few times. She's a nice mare so it was great to win it."
