Gigginstown's Archive wins bumper for Griffin Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud bookended the eight race card at Leopardstown today, completing the double in the concluding Leopardstown Club Membership (Pro/Am) Bumper with the Eoin Griffin trained Archive. The son of Sulamani was ably handled by David Mullins and the pair outbattled 1/2 favourite Potters Point on the run-in for a length and three parts win. Afterwards Griffin stated "he's improved from the last day a little bit. I was happy with his preparation," "I thought Willie's fella (Potters Point) was the one to beat and I'm glad he did it. He seems a nice horse. "We'll see where we go now and we have no real plan. He's a horse that appreciates good ground and that was just about okay. "I'd imagine he'll go to some of the festivals, Fairyhouse or Punchestown." The race was David Mullins' final ride in an Irish bumper, with the rider's claim now reduced to 5lbs while Gigginstown were earlier successful in the opening Grade 1 hurdle with the Willie Mullins trained Petite Parisienne.
