Regina Dracones attempts to improve on two recent placings in Listed chases on December 28 as the Tom Gibney-trained mare contests Limerick's similarly-classified Campion Insurance Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase.

The eight-year-old fell in the Welsh National on December 27 last year and while also failing to finish on three subsequent runs, recently finished third in two Listed races, at Clonmel in November and Fairyhouse on December 3.

Regarding his five-time winner, trainer Gibney says “all going well she goes to Limerick over Christmas. The distance (2m3f) is probably a little bit short for her, but it is a track she has won at and we thought it might suit.

"She was placed over a similar trip a couple of runs back - three miles is probably her best, but it will probably be tough down in Limerick and might ride a bit further."
