Jockey Conor Maxwell returned to the scene of his biggest win in the Leopardstown Chase last February when crediting trainer David Geary with a first winner, Getawiggleon (20/1) in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden, at the Dublin track today.

Dual-purpose jockey Maxwell steered Glamorgan Duke to win the Leopardstown Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival in February and today steered 75 rated Getawiggleon, a daughter of Rio De La Plata, to an all-out short-head win over fast-finishing 6/4 favourite Epona Plays

Geary, based in Clarina, Co Limerick, later stated “that's my first winner and I've only had a few runners over a period of time. It's a nice day and a nice place to get a winner.

“I'm a farrier by trade and just have another two-year-old in training, who will start in another two or three weeks. Hopefully I'll maybe get a few more.

“She's been there or thereabouts. The biggest concern with her is getting her settled. She seems to run her race a bit too early on in the game.

“She handled the step up to ten well. She had a little bit of form last year but it was patchy. This year she's gotten bigger and stronger.

“Hopefully she can pick up a few more races along the way. We'll see what mark she gets and make a plan after this.

“Today was the objective last year but we had to wait a while. Thank God we are here today anyway.”
