James Sheehan booted home many a winner in his riding days and now in the training ranks he turned to one of the best when putting Barry Geraghty up on his winner, Hurricane Ben who led them home in the Events Arena @ Breaffy Handicap Chase at Ballinrobe. Rebel Cry went off the heavily backed 13/8 favourite but point-to-point and dual hunter chase scorer Hurricane Ben (3/1) made it three on the bounce when coming through from the rear of mid-division and asserting away up the run-in for a convincing six length win.
"He has loads of toe. Davy Russell was supposed to ride him but he is on his stag," revealed Sheehan.
"Barry was on the ball, he gave him a super ride.
"We will step him up in trip now again and I'd say he'll go to Galway. He might go for a novice or a handicap. He will probably get ten pounds for that.
"I was a bit nervous after the mark the handicapper gave him. He was very hard to assess. He keeps improving, he knows he is winning. I only have him since October and he's a lovely horse."
M.A. Enright, rider of Valours Minion trained by V. T. O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his action having made two mistakes and was pulled up.
