George gets the job done in St Leger Trial Order Of St George extended his unbeaten run to six, as ran out a comfortable winner of the Group 3 Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger Trial Stakes. Last seen winning the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, the Aidan O'Brien trained four-year-old was widely expected to follow-up today, going off the 2/11 market leader, having opened at 1/5 on-course. Settled in fourth by Donnacha O'Brien, the son of Galileo took closer order with over two furlongs to race, and eased to the front at the furlong pole. He was pushed out inside the final furlong to see off the game effort of Twilight Payment by a length and a half. The runner-up was returned at 6/1 under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger, while the front two went nine lengths clear of the front-running Arya Tara who was third. Aidan O'Brien said afterwards: "I'm delighted with that - it was lovely. He was just ready to start back so I was a bit worried but he settled lovely and you'd have to be delighted. "He'll come back here first and we'll take it a step at a time with him." Donnacha O'Brien added: "He is a very good horse. He probably needed the run after he had a little break. He will improve a lot for that. We tried to give him as easy a day as possible." Additional reporting by Gary Carson
