Gardner scores for Meade and Condon Davy Condon partnered his fourth winner of the new season when steering the Noel Meade trained Elijah Gardner to win the Clonacody (C & G) Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel this evening. Condon held the four year old son of Refuse To Bend up in mid-division before making good headway from three out. The pair came through to lead at the final flight before staying on well for a two lengths win over Bally Longford. Afterwards Meade, registering his second win of the season, stated “that was great! I was worried the ground might have been too quick, beforehand but in actual fact he bounced off it and loved it. “He jumped much better today and the trip and ground suited him. He might go for a two miles maiden on the Flat now if the ground is good.” By Thomas Weekes, quotes from Donal Murphy.
