Gangster helps with Mullins domination A three and three quarter to one four-timer for Willie Mullins was completed by Gangster under Bryan Cooper in the Grade 3 Kerry Group Stayers Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Cooper and Gigginstown House Stud were bringing up a double themselves after their earlier success with Roi Des Francs, and Gangster's win was completing a clean-sweep thus far for the Mullins yard. Five to six shot Gangster was on terms three out, he led at the next and asserted from before the last to record a ten length verdict over Last Encounter. Giving a fourth debrief to the press following on after Killultagh Vic, Roi Des Francs and Allblak Des Places, Mullins stated: "He loves that trip and ground and he's a horse with a lot of stamina. "He'll continue to pursue those types of races, and hopefully he's good enough to go for the Albert Bartlett. "He has the speed to win over two miles which a lot of three-mile horses don't have." Paddy Power gave Gangster a first quote for the Albert Bartlett going 20s about the half-brother to Rite Of Passage. Joseph Dullea, trainer of Damut, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped wrong and was also found to be slightly distressed when examined by the Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon. (AM & EM)
