The feature race on day one of the Listowel Festival, the Dawn Milk Handicap Chase, went to the Jessica Harrington trained, Mark Bolger ridden Paradis De Thaix
The French bred, 8yo son of April Night was a fortunate winner of his novice chase at Tipperary in July on the eighth time of asking over fences.
He then ran in the Galway Blazers Handicap Chase at the Galway Festival where he finished a well beaten fourth behind Another Ambition.
Today he chased the clear leader Pink Suitcase in second for much of the race before closing five fences out. He then hit the front approaching the straight and went clear two out before staying on well to score by two lengths from Francis Du Mensil at 6/1 back in second. For A Finish was a further head back in third at 9/1 while the 3/1 favourite Pistol Jack fell at the fourth last.
Having opened this morning at 12/1, the winner came in for plenty of support and opened on course at just 6/1. He was again well backed on course and went off the 7/2 second favourite.
Jackie Lynch, member of the winning Hard To Get Ten syndicate, said afterwards: "Our syndicate name came about as we found it hard to get ten members!
"Mark (Bolger) gave him an exceptional ride. He has been a very lucky rider for us."
