The Eddie Lynam trained Colliding Worlds landed a big gamble as she took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden providing her rider Fran Berry with his third success of the day, having earlier ridden a double at Dundalk.
The 3yo daughter of High Chaparral was available at 10/1 in a place this morning but opened on track at just 11/4 (touched 3/1) before being punted into 2/1 favourite at the off. Wonderful (11/8 this morning out to her starting price of 3/1) attempted to make all under Joseph O’Brien but she was headed by the winner a furlong and a half from home and could offer no more.
Colliding Worlds soon asserted after hitting the front and she went on to record a comfortable four length success. All That Rules ran on to take second at 5/1 under Johnny Murtagh on his first start for Tommy Carmody after coming from Henry Cecil's yard.
The Thistle Bloodstock owned winner had just one run to her name before today where she finished eighth behind Coin Of Courage in a maiden at Navan in May.
Winning trainer Eddie Lynam said afterwards: "Today was the day. Connections might have had a few quid on. I don’t know what sort of race it was but we will stick her in a fillies handicap now.
"I have only one for Jimmy Long (of Thistle Bloodstock) so we are 100%."
