Jordan Gainford is excited to get back into action at Limerick on St Stephen's Day with a first Grade 1 ride to look forward to on his return from injury.

The rising star fractured his wrist in a fall at Naas early last month having gotten off to a flying start this season with 37 winners on the board.

The claimer has a book of five rides at Limerick on his return including Farouk D'alene in the featured BoyleSports Faugheen Novice Chase.

He is working his way back to full fitness following his injury and said:- “I got a fall in Naas, got knocked out and broke my wrist. I went to Dr Kenny and got pins and plates and he looked after me very well.

“I was riding out after five weeks and I've been riding for the last week now. I feel good and hopefully stronger now in the next couple of days.

“This is my first Grade 1 and I'm looking forward to it. He did it well the last day, and Gordon's horses are flying, so hopefully he'll be in with a good squeak.

“He's won around there and soft ground will suit him. He's a big old fella and took to fences very well.”
