Further rain at Gowran

The going at Gowran Park is now soft to heavy (heavy in places) ahead of today's €80,000 Goffs Thyestes Chase, the highlight on a seven race card which gets underway at 1.05pm.

A further 14mm of rain fell at the Co. Kilkenny ensuring testing conditions for the three mile handicap chase feature, which has attracted a maximum field of 18 runners.

The going on the hurdle course at Gowran is just marginally better, described this morning as soft to heavy.

Meanwhile there was 10mm of rain overnight at Leopardstown, and the going is now yielding ahead of their big two day meeting this weekend.
