The two and a quarter length victory of Alonzo in the 1m5f maiden completed a treble for trainer Joseph O'Brien at Sligo.

Fourth at Cork on his previous outing, the son of Frankel sat second to stablemate Bladon before taking over on the approach to the straight and stayed on well to fend off the challenge of Man Of Worth

After Intellotto half an hour earlier, it was a quick double for Dylan Browne McMonagle who carried the colours of Sun Bloodstock.

The Letterkenny rider reported: "He did it well. I jumped from the gates good. Declan (McDonogh, on Bladon) was quicker than me on my inside so I was happy to take a lead off him and use him as a target.

"My lad switched off good. He was entitled to do that, I thought, as it was a nice maiden in Cork and he ran a blinder. He's come forward plenty, got to the line good and will be a nice stayer hopefully. He's very well bred so fingers crossed."
