The Dasher Conway was fortunate in landing a tidy gamble when winning the Talbot Hotel Clonmel Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel.
Available at double digit prices when markets opened, the Gillian Callaghan trained seven-year-old was supported from 11/2 into 7/2 on track.
Those that got involved in the plunge must have been sweating on the run to the final flight as Uncle Gerhard appeared to have that ones measure.
However, an untidy leap at that obstacle left the Conor O'Dwyer trained gelding with too much to do and despite the best efforts of his jockey, he just failed to get back up on the line.
Gillian Callaghan said; "it is great to get him back winning and he jumped and travelled great. Something was amiss with him following his last run (inJanuary) and we straightened it out.
"The way he jumped a hurdle there, you'd look forward to him going over a fence.
"I have three horses in training and some pre-trainers."
